The Foundation is separated from the University of Rijeka, but it is integrated in its goals and programs and responsible for achieving them. The Foundation supports many activities on the University in the area of teaching, research and serving the community. Founders of the Foundation are the University of Rijeka, the city of Rijeka and Primorsko - Goranska County. The Foundation raises capital with which it helps to build infrastructure necessary to start researches, improve education, support successful students, support initiatives for developing the local community, development of the universities and other projects which are priorities for the University of Rijeka. Our mission is: - to secure the future of University of Rijeka - support the mission of University of Rijeka in education, research and serving the community -create awareness of the relevance of the University in developing the local and regional community -develop consciousness about individuals needs, economic subjects, institutions and local community to achieve a common goal of developing the society and its integration in modern Europe Goal of the Foundation is to financially support the academic community and promote the following activities: -support scientific research projects, programs and new faculties on the University and the whole academic community -support the University employees in scientific and educational careers for their scientific and specialization -financially support the students of the University In 14 years, the Foundation raised over 10.28000 kuna, and indirectly through projects distributed over 80000 kuna. In the following period our challenge is to develop the Foundation through campaigns for raising resources in regional and international cooperation, as well as using EU funds in new, common projects with the local self-government.
